We begin this Friday with a delay on a local procedural bummer for Valley weed growers, as the Mat-Su Assembly moved to postpone the most controversial subject on the docket: legislating for on-site consumption. Tim Rockey reports.

Then, in more positive weed news, contributor Robin Thompson profiles Stars Events, a breakout cannabis-themed event planning business that is sure to be a hit once tourism- and especially marijuana tourism- returns to Alaska.

Meanwhile, the impact of life under COVID continues to shake out, as the national average life expectancy for Americans drops by a full year. Of course, that's roughly from 79 to 78, so still good but you may want move up your retirement plan by a year.

Finally, new data on the gender pay gap shows Alaska more closely aligning with the national average- and slightly above for three of the last four years. Still, the data suggests women in Alaska continue to earn an average four dollars for every five a man in Alaska makes.
