Not a whole lot got done on the Legislative floor this session, partially due to the large amount of freshman lawmakers on the floor this year- but Tim Bradner breaks down the little that did happen.

Then, Mayor-Elect Dave Bronson announces his new transition team, same as the old team. He literally picked up Dan Sullivan's chief of staff, Larry Baker. As Bradner predicts, a "Conservative, cautious, old-guard Republican" administration, with little to "no bomb-throwers".

Last year, a website called "Show Us The Money" included a model of Alaska's debt situation and invited Alaskans to try to fix it themselves. Results show that the discussion of the budget hardly reflects the course of action most Alaskans would take if they were running the show.

Meanwhile, in DC, a signature from duly-elected, actual President of the United States of America Joe Biden makes the Alaska Tourism Restoration Act into law. The temporary waiver of the Passenger Vessel Services Act allows cruise ships to come directly to Alaska without stopping in Canada first.

If you've looked around recently, tourists are already coming to Alaska, in droves, by plane. That's good news for the economy.

Life is nothing but a perpetual struggle against self; there is no flowering of the soul to the beauty of its perfection except at the price of pain.

I tend to discourage people from calling me 'Sir Ian,' because I don't like being separated out from the rest of the population. Of course, it can be useful if you're writing an official letter, like trying to get a visa or something passed through Parliament. They're impressed by these things.
